Department of English
Though the Department of English at the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis pre-dates the formal establishment of our campus by nearly 50 years, the department remains at the forefront of delivering an innovative curriculum and a transformational liberal arts education.
Today, the department is composed of accomplished experts in literary, writing, and publishing fields. Devoted professors and small class sizes foster students' personal professional growth while student organizations connect them to IU Indy and their classmates. With a wide range of concentrations and minors, the department's offerings can help students find their passion in the classroom and beyond. Through valuable, thoughtful study and local engagement, we help students become a part of Indiana’s premier literary community—Indianapolis.
